What does this add to the Enneagram?
Although the Enneagram is a highly accurate description of your personality and ego structure, it does not give you a solid method to navigate your way to the inner freedom.
In order to get beyond your personality you need two things;
Psychological understanding of your inner landscape.
A practice with a spiritual orientation, to navigate your inner landscape.

How does it work?
The My Map Method is unique because it blends psychological understanding with a spiritual practice.
Your map (your map is actually a physical map you can hold in your hands) gives you the psychological understanding needed for inner freedom. It works in a similar way to a traditional map, by acting as a visual guide revealing, the hectic and noisy mechanisms of your habitual personality traits, thoughts, and emotions.
The R.E.S.T. Process gives you a daily practice that helps you navigate your inner landscape through the challenges of everyday life and allows you to journey back to the peace and aliveness of your true self (in the centre of your map.)
The R.E.S.T. Process involves gently bringing loving awareness to what is happening in the moment and allowing whatever is happening to just be.
Why you, as a Green Investigator, find inner freedom difficult…
As a green investigator, the aspects of your personality that make it difficult to find and practice inner freedom are related to your desire to be knowledgable at all times.
When you feel that you lack intellect and are ignorant of something, you become withdrawn, isolated and secretive. Avoiding the glaring light of scrutiny, you are private and introspective and avoid standing out and/or being misinterpreted. This can lead to others thinking of you as anti-social, secretive, remote and detached. Your comfort in mental pursuits makes it hard for you to turn your thoughts into constructive action and to participate in the physical world. Feeling that too much will be demanded of you, or that you will be powerless to act in the world in its current state, you strive for separation from the world and self-sufficiency in your life. You practice minimising your physical and emotional needs and learn to become quite stingy, unemotional, and you purposely distance yourself from essential resources and nurturing. You need others to not place high demands on your time or energy as you need time alone to recharge. It is essential to your well-being that your mind is clear, your life uncluttered, and that you have the ability to control your time.
What will inner freedom look like for a Green Investigator?
By using your map on a daily basis, you will be able to find inner freedom and reconnect with the wisdom at the core of who you are.

Overcome your usual desire to withdraw and allow for a wider range of emotions and express more of your thoughts and feelings with others.
Have a greater sense of generosity rather than feel the need to conserve your energy and resources.
Take real action in the real world, rather than living in your imagination.
Work towards intimate connection with others, rather than keep people at a safe emotional distance.
Learn to feel into your fears rather than rationalising them away.
Allow yourself to love and be loved.
Live more fully in the moment and feel the rapture of being alive.
Let go of the need to know everything before you can feel safe.
Let go of being quite so argumentative.
