How does it work?
The Map Method is unique because it blends psychological understanding with a spiritual practice.
Your map (your map is actually a physical map you can hold in your hands) gives you the psychological understanding needed for inner freedom. It works in a similar way to a traditional map, by acting as a visual guide revealing, the hectic and noisy mechanisms of your habitual personality traits, thoughts, and emotions.
The R.E.S.T. Process gives you a daily practice that helps you navigate your inner landscape through the challenges of everyday life and allows you to journey back to the peace and aliveness of your true self (in the centre of your map.)
The R.E.S.T. Process involves gently bringing loving awareness to what is happening in the moment and allowing whatever is happening to just be.
What does this add to the Enneagram?
Although the Enneagram is a highly accurate description of your personality and ego structure, it does not give you a solid method to navigate your way to the inner freedom.
In order to get beyond your personality you need two things;
Psychological understanding of your inner landscape.
A practice with a spiritual orientation, to navigate your inner landscape.

Why you, as a Yellow Enthusiast, find inner freedom difficult…
As a Yellow Enthusiast, the reasons you find inner freedom so difficult are related to the ways you ensure you avoid being trapped in painful situations. The ways you do this is by focusing on ways of avoiding pain and suffering, frustrations, feeling trapped. This focus on avoidance tends to lead you to becoming easily distracted and fickle. Because you become quickly bored with your life and start to feel trapped or claustrophobic, you can become scattered in an attempt to divert from your current situation.
A glutton for choice you often appear extravagant when looking for ways to have your cake and eat it too. This extravagant nature can also show up as you look to the future and the next pleasurable experience, trip or even the next meal. This future orientation causes you to continually plan in order to escape from your inner anxieties and introspection.
You enjoy flexibility because it gives you the option to change your mind at the last minute. Your attention goes to a positive future, with multiple options, but you can become paralyzed by options because you are afraid of missing out. Your vices are gluttony, overdoing and seeking stimulation until you collapse or become ill if your dreams remain unmet, you can become jaded, selfish and/or greedy.
What will inner freedom look like for a Yellow Enthusiast?
By using your map on a daily basis, you will be able to find inner freedom and reconnect with the joy at the core of who you are.
